Shell Technology Enterprise Programme (STEP)

Summary

STEP is a UK-wide programme that offers undergraduates project-based work within small and medium sized companies and community organisations in order to develop their personal and professional skills.

Further information

STEP places second or penultimate year undergraduates, who are registered on a full time degree course at a UK university, into Summer and term time project management positions. These placements are aimed at developing the students the kind of personal and professional skills that future employers will be searching for.

The programme also aims to communicate to small business managers the huge impact an undergraduate can have on their business while encouraging undergraduates to think about starting a career within the small business sector. Over the past 19 years, STEP has delivered over 21,000 projects within small businesses throughout the UK.
